History
Chippewa Indians settled a large part of the area in the mid-18th Century. French traders gave the community its name of “Grand Blanc” meaning “Great White.” The city of Grand Blanc was officially organized in 1823 and incorporated on March 4,1930. It is situated within the Grand Blanc Charter Township,but has its own government,including a city council,mayor and commissioners.

The township is seeking federal funds through Congressman Dan Kildee’s office to replace the pad in the future.
